Writer's picture: Tracy DaviesTracy Davies

Your family won't believe that this creamy, rich chocolate mousse is actually good for them! Avocados are incredibly nutritious, being loaded with heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids, containing no cholesterol or sodium, and being low in saturated fats - they even have more potassium than a banana! Serve this up as a delicious dessert, or as a tasty snack with fruit for the kids!

Ingredients

  • Flesh of 2 ripe large avocados

  • 1/4 cup organic cacao powder

  • 3 Tablespoons pure maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, melted

  • 1/4 cup coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • Zest of 1 orange (optional)

  • Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, hazlenuts & mint to garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a food processor and blend until completely smooth.

  2. Serve with berries, mint or nuts (optional)
